Golden Globe winner ‘Mr. Robot’ is returning with Season 2. And this time it promises to be a treat for the fans. New cast members, interesting plots are sure to offer its viewers value for their time and eagerness.
Indian-American actor, producer, and writer Aasif Mandvi (known for ‘The Brink’) joins the cast of USA Network’s ‘Mr. Robot’, as special agent Jesse. Craig Robinson, will essay the recurring role of Ray, Elliot’s (Rami Malek) neighbor, and Chris Conroy will come on the show as Derek, a young man with a great equation with Joanna, and Joey Badass.
Series director Sam Esmail hits at how the new season will take inspiration from the crimes Elliot committed in Season 1. Esmail shared these insights in the Q&A held at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. Christian Slater (Mr. Robot) and Malek, both shared the panel with him.
Like most American shows, where the FBI seems to be taking more screen time these days, the second season of ‘Mr. Robot’ also intends to follow the same path. So we’ll see more of FBI in Season 2. In the panel discussion, Esmail referred to Season 2 as “more like an extended feature film.”
The big spoiler Esmail gave away at SXSW – he says Season 2 will talk extensively about encryption and rights to privacy, as it;s hot topic now following the case of Apple and San Bernardino shooters.
USA Network is yet to announce the release date for ‘Mr. Robot”s second season.
